Dear Handball Friends,
It’s a great pleasure and honour for me to invite you to this major event of the worldwide handball family in the “pink city” of Jaipur. India is in the spotlight as a core interest for handball, as this huge country with more than one billion inhabitants has great chances to be the locomotive for the development of handball in Asia and all Commonwealth states. India has the economic and organisational power to create and improve our sport in the upcoming years. So this IHF Intercontinental Challenge Trophy has the great chance to become an important step in the further development and leave a footprint in this subcontinent. India can be the impetus for a whole region – starting from school handball projects up to top level handball in the national teams.
Hosting this tournament – with the support of the IHF – will give India the chance to show their strength in terms of sports and organisation.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Hassan Moustafa
IHF President
