Handball legend Jackson Richardson represents handball as Athlete Role Model at the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. In his duty as ARM, Richardson supports and interacts not only with the young participating athletes but also introduces the handball sport to the public. Ng Ser Miang is a sportsman, diplomat and businessman from Singapore. He is vice-president of the Singapore National Olympic Council and a member of the International Olympic Committee. The former sailor has won a silver medal in the South-east Asian Peninsular Games, and is currently the chairman of the entire organisation of the Youth Olympic Games.

His team is, as Korea, of the two still spotless teams –and the Norwegian objectives at the Juniors WCH in Korea are high: The European Champion’s already qualified for the semi finals, and coach Tom Morten Svendsen dreams of the Gold medal, as he said in this interview before the last Main Round match – the clash of the titans against Korea.

Manfred Prause is President of the IHF Playing Rules and Referees Commission. At the 17th Women’s Junior World Championship held in Korea. Prause is in charge for the nominations and analysis of all referee matters. The IHF-website talked to the 70 years old German about the referees appearance in this tournament.

The base for the future Coach Dragan Adzic about Montenegro’s secret of success

It’s only their second participation at a Women’s Junior World Championship after the eighth rank in Macedonia 2008 – but Montenegro is the big surprise in Korea. Four victories in four matches – including those against Russia and Sweden – make the team from Ex-Yugoslavia to one of the favourites for the semi finals. Before the last match in the Preliminary Round Montenegrinian coach Dragan Adzic, who works with this team since five years, talks about the secret of success of his team.

Going for Gold again Interview with Alexey Gumyanov, the Russian head coach

Russia is the record champion at Women’s Junior World Championships by winning eleven of 17 possible titles. After not qualifying for the last WCH in Macedonia 2008 now they’re going for Gold again, as Coach Alexey Gumyanov says. His team was surprisingly defeated by Montenegro in the opener, but then clearly beat Mexico and Hongkong.
