From 11 to 18 April 2012 IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa attended the most important sports convention prior to the SportAccord Convention in Québec City and the Olympic Games in London: He participated in the XVIII General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Moscow, followed by the II World Olympic Sport Convention. Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah from Kuwait, President of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), was elected new ANOC President. Aside the IOC Executive Board, led by IOC President Jacques Rogge, held their Pre-Olympic Meeting – and the General Assembly was opened by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. After the ANOC General Assembly the Second World Olympic Sport Convention took place in Moscow including a reception for all present sports ministers at Kremlin Palace. Dr Moustafa also attended this Convention.
