The International Handball Federation and the whole handball family mourn the passing of Slavko Miljanovic, former handball player, international referee and delegate.

A former player, he worked as secretary of the Serbian handball club IM Rakovica during the time of the club’s greatest success. Later on, he worked for the Serbian Handball Federation which included the roles within the Organising Committees of the Men’s and Women’s EHF EUROs in 2012 as well as the 2013 Women’s World Championship.

After he started refereeing in 1981, Miljanovic was an EHF referee from 1995 to 2002. Together with his colleague Zoran Tijanic, he could be counted among Serbia’s best referees.

On behalf of the International Handball Federation, IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa would like to convey his deepest condolences to Miljanovic’s family and friends and the Serbian Handball Federation.
