In summer 2017 youth teams from all over the
world will gather in Hungary – at the Intersport Youth Handball Festival – and
Italy, where the 45th Interamnia World Cup will take place.
The main goal of the Intersport Youth Handball Festival, which will take place from 2 to 8 July in Kaposvar,
Hungary, is to connect children, adults, teams and countries through handball.
Since its first edition in 2013, the tournament has been held every year with
participating teams from four continents. There are five age categories in the
men’s tournament (U10, U12, U14, U16, U18) and four in the girls’ competition
(U12, U14, U16, U18).
During the period of the tournament, the main
square of Kaposvar turns into a festival village with different possibilities
for the children to try their skills outside the handball court.
The 45th edition of the Interamnia World Cup will be staged from 5 to 11 July
2017 in Teramo, Italy. In the 44-year long history of the tournament, youth
teams from 114 countries and five continents have come to Italy to compete in
the World Cup and celebrate handball. The Interamnia World Cup is therefore the
most international handball tournament worldwide. In the boys’ as well as the
girls’ competition, there are five age categories: U12, U14, U16, U18 and Over 18.
The organisers of the Interamnia World Cup
offer a wide-ranged programme on the fringes of the event – from handball
experts taking it to the court in a ‘referee vs coaches’ match up to excursions
to discover the region.
Tournaments like these are an excellent
opportunity to increase the popularity of handball on the one hand and for
young players to gain valuable experiences on the other.
