2025 IHF Men's Junior World Championship schedule revealed

The schedule for the 25th IHF Men’s Junior World Championship, which will take place between 18 and 29 June, in Poland, has been released.

32 teams are confirmed at the start of the competition, the second ediiton in history with this number of teams in the line-up, after Germany/Greece 2023. Currently, there are 19 European teams, four Asian sides, three teams from the South and Central American Confederation and Africa respectively and two from the North and Caribbean Handball Confederation qualified.

The competition will take place in four venues, Katowice, Kielce, Płock and Sosnowiec, with the draw for the preliminary round taking place on the outskirts of the 2025 IHF Men’s World Championship, on 28 January.

The schedule of the competition can now be revealed, with the 32 teams entering the competition on Wednesday, 18 June, as all 32 sides will feature on the court. Several high-profile clashes are scheduled, with the reigning champions, Germany, taking on Serbia, which finished third in the previous edition, while Norway face Slovenia in Płock.

The preliminary round will be played between 18 and 21 June, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the main round, while the other sides head into the President’s Cup.

The main round and the President’s Cup groups will be played on 23 and 24 June, between two rest days. The quarter-finals are scheduled for 26 June, in Katowice and Sosnowiec, while the two semi-finals are due to be played one day later, at 21:00 CEST, in the two venues.

The last day of competition will see the Placement Matches 5/6 and 7/8 throwing off the day at 14:30 and 12:00 CEST respectively, with the bronze medal match following at 17:00 CEST.

The big final will be played on Sunday, 29 June, at 19:00 CEST, in Katowice.
