IHF strikes key partnership with Würth for the upcoming IHF World Championship editions

The International Handball Federation (IHF) is proud to announce today an official partnership with Würth, a world market leader in the development, manufacture and sale of assembly and fastening materials.

This partnership, brokered by SPORTFIVE, the exclusive marketer of the global media and marketing rights for all IHF World Championships through 2031, will position Würth prominently on the global handball stage, leveraging the sport’s worldwide reach to enhance brand visibility.

The collaboration encompasses both major handball events in 2025: the IHF Men’s World Championship, which will take place in Croatia, Denmark and Norway from 14 January to 2 February and the IHF Women’s World Championship, staged in Germany and the Netherlands, between 26 November and 14 December.

This partnership reflects a significant investment in both the men’s and women’s competitions, highlighting Würth’s commitment to supporting handball on a global scale.

"The IHF recognises the key partnership signed with Würth, a key player in the market they activate. The interest shown by important companies throughout the world in handball makes us strive for doing even better. The platform of top tier handball, which is delivered at the IHF Men's and Women's World Championship events, continues to be recognised as a valuable one for our partners and we look forward to a fruitful partnership with Würth," said Dr Hassan Moustafa, the President of the IHF.

Würth will benefit from an extensive package of marketing rights, ensuring broad exposure across both live event settings and global broadcast channels. This includes prominent branding opportunities within the arenas and across key televised moments, enabling Würth to reach millions of fans worldwide and maximize engagement with handball enthusiasts.

The 2025 championships are set to captivate audiences worldwide, providing Würth with an unparalleled platform to connect with a passionate, international fan base. This partnership not only strengthens Würth’s visibility in key European markets but also underscores its dedication to supporting high-energy, team-oriented sports.

"We are proud to be a partner of the Handball World Championship 2025. Team spirit, precision and a good portion of passion – these are not only success factors in handball, but also values that we live by at Würth. Together with the players, fans and organizers, we are looking forward to exciting matches,” said Fritz Hollweck, Head of Sportsponsoring at the Würth Group.
