10 Jan. 2025
In just over 300 days, the 27th edition of the IHF Women’s World Championship will throw-off and you can be there as a volunteer.
Taking place from 26 November to 14 December in Germany and the Netherlands, both host nations are now accepting applications to volunteer at the global Handball event.
Germany launches ‘Hands up for More’
Under the slogan ‘Hands up for More’, the German Handball Association (Deutscher Handballbund – DHB) have invited people around the world to join the global Handball event in the cities of Trier, Dortmund and Stuttgart which will host games from 26 November to 9 December.
The three venues of Westfalenhalle (Dortmund), Porsche-Arena (Stuttgart) and Trier Arena (Trier) require from 150 to 200 volunteers each with a variety of roles and tasks on offer. These roles include duties in visitor services, accreditation, transport services, media, coordinating the processes surrounding the games and much more.
According to the DHB, ‘…all volunteers are trained and supervised on site, receive special volunteer clothing and food during their assignment, are allowed to watch IHF World Championship games live in the arenas and will receive a volunteer certificate’.
"We want to make the 2025 IHF Women’s World Championship not only a sporting experience, but also a community experience and our volunteers are an indispensable part of this team,” said Mark Schober, Chairman of the Board of the German Handball Association on the launch of ‘Hands up for More’.
“Volunteers not only stand for organisation and service, but also for the values of our campaign: community, diversity and passion, and especially the strength of girls and women, whose visibility we want to increase in the tournament environment and beyond.”
The application process to volunteer in Germany for the DHB is now fully open to anyone who will be 18 years old or older by 23 November 2025.
